Please introduce yourself and explain how and when you became involved with the STEM School Label
My name is Laura Bajoriūnė, social educator at Šiauliai lopšelis-darželis "Pasaka", Lithuania. In my career, I always tried to stay up to date with school innovation. On this regards, I lately got involved in STEM activities and started studying ways to further implement them in my institution. Last year my school and I discovered the STEM School Label project. It was what we needed for our school and, thanks to the National Education Agency in Lithuania, we shared our school experience on the platform. The objective was to be able to improve student’s performances by getting recognized with a STEM Label while organizing seminars and workshops for teachers in all Lithuania. In September, I participated in the 33rd Science Projects Workshop in the Future Classroom Lab in Brussels that was dedicated to Ambassador STEM Schools and during which EUN provided us with resources and extra guidance in order to help our school reach the next label.

What is your main motivation for participating in the STEM School Label?
Being part of STEM school Label is an invaluable opportunity because you can introduce your STEM experience to and learn from a vast network of European teachers provided by the STEM School Label. School Practice Evidence (SPE) examples on the platform are extremely useful and inspiring as they give the opportunity to learn from them or to adopt them in your school. Being part of STEM School Label is a big opportunity for everyone, as it enriches experience and improves skills in STEM education.

How did the STEM School Label support the development of the STEM strategy at your school?
The STEM School Proficient Label gave us the boost in motivation to investigate and improve STEM strengths and weaknesses, involving all the teachers in our institution. By creating a STEM strategy, we realized where our school succeeded in and which areas needed specific intervention. Thanks to the STEM School Label we can now plan a purposeful and effective STEM strategy tailored to our school needs!
