Last month’s poll question asked which criterion within the element “Instruction” users find most difficult to address. The results are clear:

41% of the participants consider personalisation of learning most difficult. Personalised learning "refers to instruction in which the pace of learning and the instructional approach are optimised for the needs of each learner. Learning objectives, instructional approaches, and instructional content (and its sequencing) may vary based on the learner’s needs. In addition, learning activities are made available that are meaningful and relevant to learners, driven by their interests and often self-initiated" (see Office of Educational Technology)

With 35%, Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) takes second place. IBSE is a learning process in which questions, problems and scenarios are presented to students, including case studies, field-work, investigations or research projects etc.

Least of the STEM School Label users had difficulties with Problem and project based learning (PBL). Only about a fourth of the participants chose this criterion as most difficult to address. PBL is student-centred pedagogy in which student learn about a subject through solving open-ended problems and/or projects, either individually or collaboratively.

In June, we are curious to learn more about what criterion within the STEM School Key Element “Curriculum Implementation” you find most difficult to address. Check out the latest poll question on the Collaborate page!
